TMD is supporting WSP in conducting a comprehensive assessment of GRTC’s paratransit services. TMD conducted an on-site review of GRTC’s paratransit operations, which involved direct observation of dispatch, scheduling, and customer service operations, along with staff interviews and roundtable sessions with paratransit operators. This on-site visit informed a detailed evaluation of GRTC’s current technology infrastructure and staff capabilities, examining how effectively existing software tools are being utilized for grouping rides and trip optimization, identifying potential system upgrades, and assessing training needs.
The next phase of TMD’s work on the project will include a review of different operational models and the development of an implementation strategy. The strategy will outline recommended improvements across policy, procedures, technology, and staff training, complete with required resources, budget considerations, and a phased timeline for executing the improvements based on available funding and organizational capacity.
