TMD provides on-call consulting services to Sound Transit for transit service planning support. Serving as an extension of staff, TMD helps Sound Transit monitor monthly route performance, develop reports, and model future service change scenarios. TMD has developed and continues to refine a custom Power BI dashboard that summarizes ridership and performance data by route and service type to assist Sound Transit planners in their day-to-day work. Additionally, TMD maintains a spreadsheet of operating requirements by route projected out through 2045 to ensure that planned service changes are financially sustainable. TMD further responds to service scenario costing requests, modeling changes in route alignments, service spans, and service frequencies to evaluate financial impacts.
In addition to data-driven support and analysis, TMD also helps develop planning documents, reports, maps, graphics, and presentations for Sound Transit, including the 2024 Service Plan, Service Standards and Performance Measures Update, Title VI reports, and service change packages.
