TMD was selected to develop an updated Transit Development Plan (TDP) to guide future operational changes and capital projects on behalf of Great Falls Transit District (GFTD) in Great Falls, Montana. The objectives for this project are to evaluate the community’s service needs, evaluate the current GFTD transit system and paratransit services, identify service alternatives and their implementation feasibility, address transportation provider coordination, assess local and regional transit demand and potential expansion opportunities, and develop a financial plan covering the next five years.
The TDP will be oriented to strengthen GFTD’s role as a regional asset, effectively and efficiently leverage funding for retaining current customers, attract new riders, increase revenue, and be part of the solution to the region’s transportation challenges. The result of the process will be a phased plan focused on providing high-quality transit that meets the needs of the Great Falls area for the foreseeable future.
