TMD has been providing planning and scheduling support for the COMET (Columbia, SC). TMD’s support has included:
- Completing a scheduling function review and developing functional flow charts that included identifying opportunities to improve department processes, particularly focusing on effectively integrating available software tools to improve staff efficiency.
- Recalibrating all running times in Optibus™ utilizing AVL and Swiftly data. TMD’s recalibrated running times for the COMET improved on-time performance from 45 to 76 percent.
- Developing optimized runcutting scenarios for both the University of South Carolina service and COMET’s local routes.
