Ben Salter | Senior Planner

Ben is an experienced Senior Planner who has led and supported a number of projects at TMD. He served as Deputy Project Manager on the OCTA Making Better Connections Study and the RTA Sustainable Service Plan, and played a key role in designing the recommendations in NJ TRANSIT’s NewBus Newark project. Ben is also a Title VI expert, and has led the work on Title VI fare analyses, service analyses, or triennial updates for agencies including RTA, FAX, CCRTA, NJ TRANSIT, and OCTA. He has extensive experience in all aspects of bus network planning, including route design, stop spacing analysis, and existing conditions analysis.

Ben has a deep passion for transit and community engagement, and a strong commitment to public service. He has a strong background in quantitative and policy analysis, as well as skills in community engagement and graphic design. Ben joined TMD after graduating with a Masters of Urban Planning from San Jose State University. He focused his degree on the intersection of transportation and land use planning, receiving an honors designation for his capstone research work on first and last mile planning.
