LA Metro NextGen Bus Study

TMD is redesigning Los Angeles County’s existing bus network as part of Metro’s NextGen Bus Plan. This is the first comprehensive look at Metro’s fixed-route network in over 25 years. The draft network plan was released to the public in January 2020. It emphasizes high frequency service (every 5-10 minutes) on key corridors serving over 80% of today’s riders. It also greatly increases service levels after 7 PM and on weekends as well as focuses on improving travel times by reducing delay and increasing operating speeds. After public input is collected in February and March, TMD will work on developing a final network plan that will be presented to the Board of Directors in September 2020.
