Amber Mallard | Associate Planner

A native San Diegan, Amber joins TMD with a Masters in City Planning from San Diego State University where her studies focused primarily on the environmental aspects of planning, including conservation, sustainable development, and active transportation. For her graduate capstone project, she played an integral role researching policy best practices and barriers to women in cycling within the San Diego region. As a student worker, she supported the Climate Science Alliance’s Connecting Wildlands & Communities program where she managed jurisdictional survey data to score the effectiveness of environmental programs (e.g., water, fire, conservation) within southern California. Prior to working at TMD, she worked in the clean transportation sector with the Center for Sustainable Energy as a Project Coordinator helping implement the California Energy Commission’s $2 million funded California Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project (CALeVIP) to incentivize statewide EV charging installation. At TMD, she supports various nationwide projects in regard to route design, stop spacing analysis, and existing conditions reporting. Amber has a strong passion for the environment and wishes to strengthen communities through sustainable transportation.
